Japanese band plays Lingala

Yoca Choc translates to (Listen to Choc). Orchestra Choc Bana Japonais. This is a Japanese band that plays Congolese genre Lingala ( A composition of rumba and rhythmic African drumming and sharp heavy guitar licks) . I was unable to get the exact year of their debut. However one should not confuse them with the spin off from Zaiko Langa Langa, Choc Langa Langa . Judging by the beat this should be during the early nineties when Zaiko Langa Langa released their album 'Live in Japan'.

The tempo of the song is Zaiko Langa Langa prototype certified. The Atalaku rapper chants in exactly the same style as Roberto Waunda formerly of Wenge B.C.B.G. major breath control. Atalaku rap is Africa's original rap format. Popularised by the Congo. Choc Japonais comprises folk of Japanese descent. This goes along way to show how Congolese musicians push hard for their music. Lingala continues to prove its dominance. With an extremely complex structure of composition. Characterized by 3 or 4 layers of transition. Yet easily attaining pop status. Kenyan musicians should borrow a leaf.
