Tribute to John De Mabior Garang

These lyrics i wrote is the least i could do, for having identified with your struggle. If i ever get to meet your wife Rebecca, then i will give her the recorded song.

If I didn’t know better for revolution i couldn’t hang
Even though you inspired my life Dr. John Garang
As a Kenyan immigrant from the South of Sudan
I understand our emancipation was your master plan
For years we’ve suffered at the hands of Omar
Bombing and enslaving our people major contraband
At the times of struggle with army at your command
SPLA needless to ay we cuddle AKs

Twenty-two years of fighting for the south in constant pain
Of families split apart struggling to maintain
Atrocities from Khartoum no human can relate
Modern day holocaust southern people so they hate
For oil and wealth on our lands innocent lives slain
SPLM the movement to show improvement and gain
This track might hit the airwaves when you hit your grave
Still I swear not to shout for revolution in vain

Still I swear not to shout for revolution in vain
Struggling for freedom to break form this system
Mabior Garang leadership full of wisdom
We hope for peace to reign in the southern kingdom

The Janjaweed feed non-arab to dogs as food
Burning up their houses and burning up their schools
Rape and mass killing a concept never understood
The U.S. & U.N. keep sending their troops to Darfur
Its high time they realize its not much they can do
As president you would come to the people’s aid soon
Because its only one of us who knows what affects us
Despite our tribal differences you kept on urging us
To unite and fight for the land they are robbing from us
Now in Peace you rest chilling with the other brothers
Namely Patrice Lumumba or even Che Guevara
Building on how to stop conflict in the sub-sahara
Mabior Garang 3rd world revolution Messiah
Rebuilding our nation is the major endeavour
Dinka and Nuer tribes its time to work together
Rest in peace my man the struggle goes on forever.
